Yeah this whole bands “problem” for me, as well as Polaris, is the samey-ness

im kinda excited for the new polaris album bc icarus slapped so damn hard, but the saminess has always been a problem for this band for me. honestly think the ep is probably their best because a shorter format benefits their style way way better imo. plus its the only album of theirs where brians melodies dont bore the shit out of me. dude kinda writes some good stuff on that one

yeah Polaris and these dudes have a lot of similarities. strong as hell vocalists, insane leads, fairly average song writing. both’s best work are arguably their EPs. def prefer these guys though, can’t stand Polaris’ choruses these days

polaris's choruses on the last album were a very mixed bag for sure. some good hooks (all of this is fleeting esp) but a lot of wack shit too (cannot stand masochist, above my head and vagabond)

Just started the new one. Grabbed it in lossless hoping for a miracle but it still sounds horrific. It can't be their best for that reason alone lol, it sounds so fucking bad man.

oh yeah the production is dreadful lmao

They have albums that sound good. Is it so hard to try to replicate success? I really don't understand how lots of established bands manage to put out all-time worst sounding albums deep into their careers and seem okay with it.
On a positive note, fucking hell Brian popped off on track 2.

ni what you're talking about - it sounds big and heavy and perfectly mixed

I don’t mind the prod on it based on the singles although I know lots have complained. It’s muddy yes but I don’t mind it. It’s setting an aesthetic that I kinda enjoy. Sounds oppressive on my cans
