It's just distinctive for being an album of ten strong songs in a row - that's distinctive enough for me in 2017.
Sound isn't reinventing the wheel but I think the singer bring a personality of his own, this is a little less pristine than Rhye, it gets lyrically grubby from time to time.

The production is technically excellent for sure though I still think it's just a tad too clean overall. Only a minor complaint though, album is lovely.

@Doof, It is by no means the wildest thing I've heard this year, but I love it all the same.
I finally got myself some AT m50x's and I can practically feel him strumming my eardrums with that guitar pick.

Love the closer, lyrics are perfect

The closer is a cypher for the whole album in a sense, the lyrics go full cheese and you realize that was kind of the point the whole time.

Def think apocalypse is best overall

The only thing that really bugs me about apocalypse - as someone who heard the record before any of the singles - is that it opens with a near copy of the riff that opens sunsetz right before it and the homogeny of the record becomes a bit too much in that moment

It's funny, because in the beginning i hear Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley
