I didn't get to finish the new album yet but what I heard sounded good. This band has a knack for doing things that should sound terrible and somehow making it sound mysterious and interesting.

Not sure you'll get it on the new one, but I did enjoy "The Actor" quite a bit. The Dream a pretty artsy/meandering experience just without those mind blowing cuts like the ones you pointed out.

Interesting. I gave it a spin and was lukewarm on it, but never bothered returning to it multiple times which is odd considering how much acclaim I gave all of their previous records. Might have to go back to the new one, then.
