Yeah this psychs more than Starspawn, I get the vague similarities with the whole OSDM meets spacey and more melodic/progressive/whatever vibe. The songcraft on show here is so impressive & always interesting & the production is amazing.

Quirkier riffs would’ve likely ruined this, they hit hard when you need them to, for me at least... although you’re right about the 2nd half as the three part t/t is incredible.

I reluctantly agree the second half is stronger, only because the trilogy is so damn good. But it definitely doesn't overshadow the first half because it's nearly as good.
