That's how I feel about the two albums. I'd like to call it middle of the road quality and Metallica can do so much worse as I'm sure must people are aware of! But yeah there are totally some good moments here. Spit out the bone for instance.

I'd agree with that too that's one of my biggest gripes about it. Imagine if these two albums were recorded in the 90's instead of that shit we had to listen to back then you guys have no idea how lucky you are.. Ha

Metallica is basically a vessel for James to write bad ass riffs at this point, which is where my expectations end, and for that it's pretty damn good.

Production wise yeah-totally would as well, it's better. I meant quality wise my mistake, when I say if these were recorded in the 90's not only would it have sounded better production wise I feel as if it would've just been a better album in general because Metallica was just a better band back then. Load and Reload production is good, their just bad albums.

There is a guy on youtube who mixed all the singles justisce style and it sounds really good.
There is still no bass, but it's much better than we have now.
