I'd say both be'lakor and insomnium are way safer than DT. DT was creative as fuck on Fiction for example, quite late into their career.
but these days insomnium started doing blast beats, so yeah. the wow factor is there

i still listen to 'like sand' and 'through my eyes' semi-regularly...
hell even if these guys never get back on track there will always be a couple guilty pleasure songs on their albums, and i'm kinda okay with that

That's how I feel except on an album basis. This stuff obviously isn't as nearly as good as their early work but I don't find anything horribly offensive about the albums. The bonus tracks on this are good listens as well.
