Saw it had been put in the sales, can't imagine what an English Lambchop fan looks like, HMV probably sold less than a hundred copies

I'll check it boney mate.
Doof what do you reckon to HMV nowadays? I think it has really sorted itself out, possibly better than it ever has been.
There was a time around 2010 when it didn't even stock Pink Floyd? I actually brought it up with a staff member asking what the bloody hell they were playing at. They agreed.

HMV is all there is and they've finally diversified pretty well, they were dangerously slow in reacting to the online competition though. CD's are now reasonably priced (£5) for the 'classics' (often cheaper than online). New albums they usually place in a deal after a few months so they end up about £7.
Overall not bad, good for established well known/mid level classics of the 60s/70s/80s/90s. Where they aren't as good as they used to be is stock from the last 10-20 years. If you wanted the Lambchop albums before FLOTUS they won't have them. I bet they won't have many albums by yer 2000s acts like Grandaddy/Modest Mouse/Wilco. That's where they've had to compromise.

The vibe on this thing makes me want to float away on a cloud of bliss while simultaneously gouging me eyeballs out cos of that irritating fucking vocoder or whatever the fuck it is.
Still an absolute quality album though.

I honestly love the vocoder on this, it adds so much to the atmosphere and there's no way Wagner could sound so sensual without it. A minor masterpiece, this.

It's pluses and minuses. If ever there were an album that deserved a sunken Wagner croon it's this one. A part of me loves the fact the vox are thrown in there with some element of taking the almighty piss.

Nixon has some crooning too, it's probably for the better that Wagner has abandoned the falsetto though.

Alas, my resistance to the Wagner falsetto has indeed weakened of late!

Mine has taken a considerable hit - used to flat-out hate "What Else Could It Be?" (I know it's not on this album) but now I find it just a teensy bit difficult to resist. Still think he sounds like a pederast when he whispers "come here, sugar" at the end though
