I like The People a lot but I agree, I really don't like how long the Nebula is.

"I actually enjoy the interludes"

The Nebula's length doesn't really bother me. Though having recently gone on a massive atmospheric black metal binge, the shock of an interlude being a couple of minutes long has probably been significantly diminished.

If the Nebula were 80 seconds long it would be perfect.

"Edit: Wait if Cory is a Christian, what the hell is the first song about? Sounds kinda anti-theist."

I read that it's pretty much him imagining the world burning and being the king of nothing, and relating that to peoples' related experiences of just wanting to watch the world burn at a given moment. Hopefully I paraphrased that correctly.

I agree. I enjoy the interludes as well. The Nebula does feel slightly long if we're nitpicking, but I still listen to it most of the time. Amazing album that I'm continuing to enjoy more and more, which seems impossible with how much I already like it.

Is there a overall story to the album or are they just 4 parts with their own themes?

Cory has said in interviews that the album deals with an abusive relationship he was in a long time ago and getting out of it

The first minute of Synthetic Sun goes soooo hard. I've had that song on repeat the past 3 days.

This album is really rewarding with more listens. Even though the lyrics are about a specific type of abusive relationship I can relate in a more abstract way, if that makes any sense.

The production felt a little too suffocating at first but now I'm really appreciating how thick and noisy it is. I'm surprised my budget subwoofer hasn't just burst into flames yet.

I love the production. Album sounds great. Reminds me of redeemer. Loud, grungy and full.

The NWS sample at the end of A Thousand Years a Minute is fucking intense, it's given me chills each listen

The NWS sample is haunting for sure. The guy's voice sounds like the dude from that P.T. demo they released on the playstation which was supposed to be the lead-up to the new silent hills game.

The dude's voice sounds fucking identical to the guy on the radio in PT. Totally.

Hence the utter creepiness.
