@ the people talking on the last page, if you like melodic / chorus-driven chevelle then vena sera should be your favorite

Okay? It's top 3 or 4 for sure, but Chevelle has always had melody, even La Gargola is 100 times more melodic than this album. My point was that this severely lacks melody. My point definitely was NOT that my favorite part of Chevelle is melody. Tho it could be, but that has nothing to do with what I had said.

Sounds almost identical to Tool in the mid 2000's. Still a great album though, but it just doesn't warrant more that 4 for that reason.

I'm being sarcastic tbh tbh

Maynard is all over Loeffler's vocals. It's like a significant part of their appeal to me

Chevelle actually make songs instead of fucking around like a bunch of Tool(s).

Just snagged this I guess making me a Chevelle fan for more than a decade. I never would've guessed I'd still like them after all this time, but they are a pretty swanky band

This exactly, also lacks hooks. They aren't heavy enough and they don't write good enough "heavy" riffs to make an album like this. I definitely didn't start listening to Chevelle because they were a metal band and I just don't buy it on this album.

This sounds like it could have been their very first album before they developed songwriting skills.
