The ending of Gore hits like a ton of brings in comparison to the first half.. Fo now Prayer/triangles might be my favorite off here, followed by Phantom bride and rubicon

Xenon is a really fun song. Like the weird robot vocals on Acid Hologram

"free spotify is poop quality wise (128 kbps i think) but honestly it means jack when your out and about and not hooked up to a Hi-Fi setup"
It also means jack when the album is mastered so poorly. You'd think in this day and age when Spotify and iTunes have volume normalization set to on by default that bands/record labels wouldn't feel the need to try and compete in volume and ruin the sound.

The album sounds alright to me, by no means the worst production I've ever heard (I'm looking at you Fallujah)

Like I said before, the drums and vox tend to be a little low for my tastes (listen to koi no yokan for comparison, it's almost shocking the difference. also koi no yokan in general is one of the loudest albums I've ever listened to) but it's a really good sounding album for the most part

Do they have any other albums that are a similar style? I've only ever listened to White Pony, and I found it to be a little bit grating.

Phantom Bride's already in my top 10 or 15 Deftones tracks
just so perfect; that, hearts/wires, & the title tracks are my favorites off the record at the moment

and i guess i'm not the only one put off by the general mixing/mastering of this thing
it's either one or the other, probably the mastering because when i eq it a bit it sounds a lot better - last two records seemed to have the guitars sitting a lot better in the grand scheme of things than this one does - when Prayers/Triangles hit on my stereo the first time it was just like this white blast of treble or something

The palm muted guitar line on Phantom Bride is gold.

I'd be interested to know how involved in that song Cantrell was, like if he just played the solo or the leads or what

KNY is their best produced album without a doubt.

Can't see Chino or even Steph playing that part. Sounds more up Cantrell's alley and more melancholically melodic driven anyways.

Don't get me wrong Pleb I love it, it always catches me off my guard though as to just how loud it is.

I want to listen to this more, but I'm cycling through the 8th's music (rightened Rabbit, Filter, Cult of Luna, Deftones), but I didn't totally dig it at first. Then the last three tracks kicked in and I just got this big, dumbass grin on my face.
The ending for the title track gave me shivers. Outside of seeing them live, I can't remember Chino ever going that low. That growl is fucking scary. Gore is definitely my favorite track on this - for now, at least
