"Album still slays for days. The second half drags a little bit but that's it. I prefer Charlie to the old vocalist tbh"
Yep, yep, and yep

Yeah I saw that on Facebook, really shouldn't have had to aputate it though they just went to a shitty Polish hospital lol. I think he just broke a few bones.

Serious kudos to these guys for pulling off a metal album that's so long yet holds up so well throughout and after multiple listens. Not many bands seem able to do that

it's an album that every time i come back to it i'm like "damn, this is incredible... why don't i listen to it more?"

Is it really necessary to clarify how much you disapprove of the vocalists Internet actions before the review? This happens with all the band's with edgy frontmen or lyrics in general. I can understand it with arghoslent because of blatant racism in the lyrics but do we gotta say that (so and so) did (a shitty thing) every time?

@YearOfNoLightning
I don't think it's necessary in most cases, but in this case it was the backstory for why this album debuts a new vocalist so I think it made sense for the review.

yes but the context was handled very poorly

Yeah the way it was worded also tried to make it seem like Phil M didn't really contribute creatively to their past works. Can't just take that away because of something stupid about his personality, he was still a huge part of their older material.

Yeah, that first paragraph is just bad and mostly unnecessary. I agree that mentioning what happened makes sense to give some context but outright bashing a former member (even if that member was a PoS) who doesn't contribute to the album being reviewed isn't necessary and doesn't add to the album review in any way. The tone used gives an impression of holier than thou and is cringy as hell.

Great Review and fantastic album - I'm happy you brought up the issue of misogyny and homophobia- LGBT metalheads do exist and it has nothing to do with PCness or Tumblr~
We don't let racism slip, so neither should we let blatant homophobia/sexism/transphobia.
Don't censor what these prejudiced idiots say, but calling them out is the right thing to do.
There's a clear line between lyrical content, and the artists actual opinions.
I find it sad metal is still sometimes filled with regressive meat heads. but whatever, there are quite a few talented metal musicians and singers who are queer, and it takes guts to be open in a milieu that is known for closemindedness.
