I just love Kanye's attention to detail in MBDTF, you could just tell that there was a lot of effort put into that album.
But then came Yeezus with which Ye did the exact opposite

This review got shitted on. YIKES.

watch the throne is damn nice save for the fact that jigga did next to nothing nice on it

So apparently Martin Shkrelli paid 15 million dollars to a random guy claiming to be close to Yeezy to buy Kanye's album so the public never gets to hear it

It is a perfect record, in my opinion. It captures everything that made his previous albums good musically and refines them, gives them new life and atmosphere and it all works so perfectly together, plus it hints to the path he would take years later in a few spots.
Kanye made a wise choice switching his style and sound completely after it; There was just nowhere else to go with the sound he had cultivated after that, it's either reinvent yourself or repeat yourself until you die.

Also we were talking about that on the Yeezus thread

Yeezus is a perfect followup to MBDTF. The complete antithesis of MBDTF.

Martin Shkrelli is most likely just begging for people to pay attention to his pitiful existence.
I do hope it's true, though, although he deserves a hell of a lot worse.
|

honestly the price hike isn't quite that evil considering literally every other pharmaceutical company does it. But at the same time Shkrelli is constantly making an ass out of himself and has the maturity of a kid who just entered middle school

I feel like this is the perfect follow up to Yeezus as well. Bound 2 left us off with practically a love song to Kim after being angry for the other 9/10's of the album. He's gotten married and has had two kids since then, so he probably couldn't put 100% of his focus on this album and record it at some hideaway in Hawaii like he did with MBDTF, which kind of shows in some of the more under-cooked and patched together tracks on this album.

Yeah, it's his immature smugness that really gets to me. Dude's a piece of shit
this album is not
|

Plus this is the happiest he has sounded on an album since Graduation.

Album Rating: 4.0
which is why graduation is ye's worst album
sadness hmu
|
| |
But Graduation rules
|
| |
This actually basically MBDTF 2.0 except not as cohesive, so minus 0.5
MBDTF>TLOP>CD>LR>808>Yeezus>Graduation
Yeezus is great, too
Graduation has an amazing start with 1. Good Morning, 2. Champion 3. Stronger (great single), and 4. I Wonder. It has 2 other great singles on it (Can't Tell Me Nothing and Flashing Lights)... The rest ranges from "boring" to "doo-doo".. Still not a bad album though..... man NOBODY active in the last 15 years has a discography as impressive as Kanye
