That's okay, I still really like it. You say try-hard like it's a bad thing, I desperately wish this band never stopped trying hard. That was their death-knell imo.

Genuinely interested in what your problems with this are. This is a perfect marriage of pop and modern metalcore which sacrifices neither aspect. That's literally something that so few have achieved... Some songs are worse than others for sure, but it's a great album. It's left an indelible mark on the scene.

This intricacies of this are what really make it good ... they always had really cool transitions, or just a small burst of riffage or something that connected two sections... after this the writing got really bland and they thew away all the subtleties for more basic structures

The mainstream push on this album was really tastefully done though. It takes a lot of skill to streamline your sound like this while not compromising heaviness and technicality. And though TDH is better, The Weak Willed is still my #1 ATR song.
