i liked them back when i saw them tbh, their live presence was pretty much the icing on the cake on my eventual wash into great disdain for the mastodon

I really wish that all band's would realize that if people are coming to see you, they're not just coming for the music. That's a big reason yes, but they're also coming to see you put on a show. I've only seen Rush live, but they put on one hell of a fucking show, and they're in their 60s now! However they get the music out is up to them, but it still counts for something if your fans are enjoying the whole show.

I enjoy bands that just jam their shit, with as little talk as possible, and could care less about the crowd

Brann i a shit drummer dude technical prowess doesn't compensate for a complete lack of dynamism and artistic restraint, he has one mode and its utter bombast. i mean he can 'play drums' but theres so much more behind what makes a great drummer a great drummer and he's completely lacking on basically every front besides the ability to wank hard

pretty much that entire band is a power struggle for spotlight a lot of the time and that turns me off a lot, a good musician knows how to feel out their entire band what a moment needs and does not need those guys are all basically just trying to out-piss each other on the fire hydrant of wank
