This album was actually one of their best IMO, at least from a songwriting standpoint. But I agree, the electronic pop approach here would be worn if done again, hopefully they take another interesting turn or revert back to making songs like "Panic Switch".

For me it's gotta be Neck of the Woods, I just loved the overall vibe. Always felt like being submerged in a creepy horror movie. This and Swoon are about tied and then the rest of the discography is lower on my list although I haven't listened to any of their other records more than once, outside of the aforementioned 3. Will have to try Carnavas again eventually, it's been at least 5 years since I've listened to it.

Wow that long! I suppose it isn't their most listenable, I do really have to give Neck of the Woods another listen, I just remember it standing out the least to me even if I liked it a bit better than Swoon
Swoon was really good but didn't do much for me compared to the others

Neck of the Woods is a good middle ground between Swoon's guitars and Better Nature's hooks. I think it'd be worth your time to revisit it. It's not a front to back classic but its highlights are downright haunting; I think I have it 5'd anyway lol.
