Yeah, I don't know if I could pick a favorite overall song. Selkies would definitely be up there. I could pick out bits and pieces of songs that I really dig though.
I'm really enjoying The Ectopic Stroll off of this album right now.

The more I listen to this album it's like BTBAM is consciously becoming the Dream Theater band that rips off Dream Theater licks rather than licks from all other famous bands.
Not that it's a bad thing at all but I have to question the songwriting strategy. Dream Theater is known for writing songs with bits and pieces directly inspired by famous parts and licks from other famous bands. "Home" from Scenes From a Memory is very similar to 46 and 2 by Tool, "Solitary Shell" from A Train of Tought is basically Peter Gabriel's' "Solsbury Hill" etc. etc.
Now BTBAM is pulling licks and bits from Dream Theater albums I could name by track and Min. as well as many parts that tribute pretty clearly to Porcupine Tree. While it's fun to listen to, it's also like holding Dream Theater up to a set of mirrors and seeing the endless fractal reflections going off into infinity. Stylistically BTBAM has been a living tribute to Core Metal, Classic Progressive Rock and Metal bands for a while. But On this album it seems that they've transitioned from giving tribute to their influences to simply re-writing their material.
On earlier albums BTBAM spent more time in their death-core grind sections making their material more chaotic and difficult to pin down. Now that they are writing in more coherent song structures the influences for many of their parts are there to observe and connect in plain daylight.
I really enjoy this album, for Prog Metal enthusiasts it's probably the most enjoyable album BTBAM has ever made since it pulls so many of the best elements of the best Prog Band(s) in the business. But I can't give a higher rating to the album as it seems that Coma Ecliptic is more of a mix-tape or sample track of other bands and less of a unique body of work. Except for those circus music sections and their signature unison fills.

The more I listen to this, the more I like and appreciate it.
It just takes time to digest like most of their stuff, but I am actually digging this unlike the last record.
