idk if i've mentioned this to anyone but this year i challenged myself to listen to every single album that gets a front page review on sput, so i've heard a ton of generic indie and metalcore thus far. but anyways i have a decent sized backlog because the mods feature things at weird intervals - like they'll go a week without a feature and then feature like twelve reviews over the weekend. so anyways provided nobody gets a feature i'll probably have time at work to check smith street

a lot of people who haven't heard of jeff before don't get it upon seeing the live show, because he certainly does fuck around, but in that punk rock way where a) he's fucking around because it's fun, energetic and spontaneous and b) even though he's fucking around it still sounds really good, musically
i remember when btmi did their last australian tour with smith street band, there was a show review that threw around the word "untalented" and referenced some sort of negative perception of americans
