Before this most recent relisten, I probably would've agreed, but I think this is as good as his early solo stuff now. This is solid pop.

i also think the sequencing of this album is the worst of any in his discog pretty easily and that kinda knocks it down a peg. swap the placement of dont give up and big time and you remedy that a good bit though

kate is always such a nice surprise on dont give up
shame about the song though
