This album is mathy and epic as all heck -- it took me about 10 listens before I had a slight clue what they were doing, but I am mightily impressed! Didn't know they were this skilled, they are at the top of the field as players in addition to being consummate rock n' rollers.

It doesn't appeal to the ear at first, but if you listen to the instruments instead of waiting for the vocals ... it works wonders. I think it might be their best, not one of their worst.

Forced? LOL --- don't think so, it's ri-donk-u-lous-ly good, these guys are out of their critics' league by so far it's just funny.

The beginning of the album (first 20 or 30 seconds) seems to be a tribute to White Pony by Deftones ... reminds me of how that album starts. Notice some Tool influence and some old heavy metal rock n' rolling ... I just think it's as good as you can ask for. Some people want music to tickle their dicks instead of their ears.

I disagree with the review. I thought the Hunter was meh, but this is so inoffensively meh that I cant seem to play through more than the first couple songs before I'm so bored that I switch to something else.

Pretty disappointed. But props for the epic artwork on the cover.

I hope no one who's shitting on this was expecting another Remission or Leviathan... The Hunter should've been a pretty clear statement about who they are now

Oh, I was expecting a follow-up to The Hunter, I wasn't expecting it to be so dull though.

I was too but I didn't really expect it, short heavy catchy songs sell more than grandiose mystical prog epics unfortunately :/
