After seeing this being badly received and having a underwhelming first listen, i feel like this is slowly sinking in. I think nobody was supposed to not go in expecting some tech DM riffs or Focus era Cynic, this seems more supposed to be kinda like a pleasant space rock/jazz experience i guess. And that's fair for me

yeah well folks seemed to be hoping for Focus level material, before the first single came out. And TiA still had some techy dm stuff going on. Anyway i do agree with you Ins, this doesn't hold a candle to their previous releases in any sort of way, but there's still a big change in direction to take in account here and for what it is, i feel it still manages to find it's way into my ears. It still doesn't feel simply dumbed down, it has its own feeling going on. One that im sure to hold up your 3.5 quite well.
This might actually come to a 3 for me.

yea it's a pretty low 3.5 for me. i like it as background music for working/hw a lot but i tend to lose interest as the album goes on. also my fanboyism prevents me from lowering it. the avg alone makes me sad next to the 4.2 and 4.3 :/
