definitely gonna give this a listen soon to reevaluate
feel like I'll have a different/better perspective on it now that it isn't simply one I listen to him from him "just because it's his new music" or whatever, if that makes sense

yeah i feel you. live room is enormous. and perfectly titled i am realizing. he says the titles aren't conceptually related to the music but i think he still picks really good ones.
|
| |
maybe that isn't his intention, but I think many of his song and album titles are very aesthetically evocative to the point that they meld into / help shape the music, in some ways

I really like this but I always forget that it exists, which is weird because it wows me every listen idk. Doesn't hold a torch to Haunt Me or Radio Amor tho

maybe that isn't his intention, but I think many of his song and album titles are very aesthetically evocative to the point that they meld into / help shape the music, in some ways definitely. in interviews he says the titles aren't connected to the music in conceptual way, like the music isn't intended to evoke specific image necessarily, but the titles are still important as a means of context. i can't find the interview in question rn but here's a semi-related quote from his interview w resident advisor:
"Record titles or track titles are a chance to cloak the work with a kind of poetic garb. That isn't glib in any way, I take it very seriously—and that's not saying that the titles are about nothing—but often people run with that stuff so far that you need a meaning structure around it to interpret a work. But often people build up such a sort of ornamentation around the work they actually don't get to the substance of it."
