except that when BOO and other bands similar do it, they're extremely generic, straightforward, boring, and poorly executed. I'm not saying the shug is some perfect band that does everything right, but their chugs have groove and there's generally some innovation in them. in short, BOO does it bad, whereas shug does it well.
the synths are gay because they sound gay. i think the synths in The Discovery generally worked (though they were sometimes overkill) but on here they just don't work as much. it just seems like they're tacked on to distract from the fact they are pretty much just chugging through the entire album. and the end of Divergency is just fucking awful. the synths wouldn't be bad if they toned it down a bit.
i don't think this album is horrendous, it's just so boring. the album felt like it was two hours long, and not in a good way.

and it just feels like they're trying too hard. the weird album title that doesn't make any sense, the stupid As being triangles, the psuedo-classical opening to the album, how they constantly try to make some epic atmosphere. i just don't think anything worked on this album.

That interview was horrible. They seemed emotionally or intellectually stunted, with the exception of Tosin who thankfully got out of this terrible band.

This Album is a whole piece of shit. It sounds like some generic, boring, embarrassing Rise Records bullshit.
More than overproduced, unneeded electro-elements ( ok ... its Born of osiris but in my opinion it doesnt fit well. It just sounds put on ) stakatto Breakdowns, stakatto Breakdows, more stakatto Breakdows and mooooreee bruuutaaal vocals.
