Never could really get into traditional anime. I LOVED Death Note and Code Geass was ok but other than that never been my thing.

i've heard meh things about fairy tale and i really did not like code geass. i should mark it down on my MAL, come to think of it. the only things good about geass were lelouch and the ending
i've never heard of the leftovers though
@mongi you should try fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood. everyone i've recommended it to (~12 people) who was a fan of A:TLA loved it as well. the dub's fantastic and it has an excellent plot. the only thing that might bother you are the off-model designs used for humor. i think the author's sense of humor (slapstick, using those weird off model designs) is hilarious but your mileage may vary. still, i'm 95% confident you'd love it.

Fairy Tail is a more humor focus series, but I love it. Love Attack on Titan too, even if the whole premise sounds like one bit fetish.

yeah fair enough. fairy tail is definitely not my style.
attack on titan was pretty good, not as good as its hype and better than its anti hype. it has some pacing issues and honestly i think it'd have been better if they kept it closer to the horror feel of the first six episodes or so. but the direction they took it was pretty good so i won't complain.

@Toxin The Leftovers is the new show on HBO about the people left behind after a supposed rapture, shown from the POV of one town. It's so fantastic. Pretty bleak, which is why the show gets some mixed reviews. It's not exactly accessible and often hard to watch, but I personally love it. It's JJ Abrams too.

you know, i'm actually not really a fan of JJ Abrams. i didn't really like the star trek movies much and didn't like super 8 either. i'll probably pass on the leftovers since there are so many good HBO shows i haven't watched and it doesn't really sound like my thing.

I mean this with all due respect, but how old are you? haha. SAO, Fairy Tail, Attack on Titan, Code Geass are all shows I probably would have enjoyed if I watched them 4 years ago.
