damn your writing is improving at an exponential rate. as much as it pains me to say this: great work fucker.

like stack this up beside that Skrillex review I tore apart and if I didn't already know they were written by the same person then I wouldn't believe it.

My favorite part of the album were the periods of 3-4 seconds of silence between the songs.

I don't disagree with your rating and I don't think the review is necessarily poorly written, but I do think it's strange that the overarching criticism is that the album is formulaic and not progressive. I don't know when 'progressiveness' became an inherently positive attribute.

There are tons of bands out there putting out great formulaic music, and some really terrible bands that have a wealth of progressive songs. I agree with you on the riffs and vocals, but I don't agree with simply criticizing song structure for not being progressive. Those aren't positive or negative attributes, they're just song structures.

Good point freedom, but I think he's essentially just referring to the fact there is a correlation between predictable song structures and the quality of the music (which there is), and he's simply using it as another nail in the proverbial coffin that is this record.

I've never heard a single thing from this band. Not one song, it doesn't look like I'm missing out though.

The only thing I've ever heard from this band that I even somewhat liked was Scream, Aim, Fire, but even that was pretty lackluster.

I've only heard Hand of Blood, and that's only because the song was in Need for Speed Most Wanted

Not planning on expanding that number of songs, either.
