"If you've got a key that opens a lot of locks, you've got a master key. If you've got a lock that a lot of keys can open, you've got a shitty lock"
That saying is ancient man, ancient.

i wonder if wonarabbit understands that oppression isn't just a two boxes you can check that say slave / not a slave
like lol he sounds he believes that as soon as the emancipation proclamation was enacted black people were equal hooray!! oppression is over
also lol at the idea that philosophy's "end" somehow coincided with that of instituionalized slavery in america, what a fucking joke, stop

i know the term "patriarchy" is instantly laughed off as feminazism or whatever but come the fuck on
from the business of selling and distributing music to the critics who have been essential in forming a musical "canon" to the outside societal forces that dictate the terms of artists and artistry this shit is controlled by men and if you are blind to that You Are Trash
the visible severity of oppression and those same forces have of course changed and that's good--and guess what! there are way more visible (and good, but that's subjective) female artists today than there were thirty years ago! and there were way more thirty years ago than there were three hundred years ago! what a fucking shocker--but to equate that to Well We're Completely Equal So Now I Can Fairly Say That Women Just Suck is fucking laughable
go look up the "judith shakespeare" passage from virginia woolf's "a room of one's own". if you don't think there's an analog between those days and musical history leading up to today you are a joke

I don't know, I'm still a teen, and so far I've seen this "you shouldn't like this shitty music" kind comments directed at men and only men. Women are supposed to like this "shitty" music (and all pop is shitty, of course), so they don't really feel encouraged to explore new musical grounds. It took me effort to get a female friend to listen to metal because why would she listen to such masculine stuff?
Pop, the shitty kind (...) is like entry level music, and after that they get to other styles. Men are encouraged more often because "why are you listening to that faggot bullshit?" Women are not.
And I don't know why everybody felt the need to note that they hate this "cuz it sucks" and not because of sexism. You know Chan isn't talking about you, right?

not sure why she jammed like 16 songs onto this, got tedious for me real fast
maybe if she had better quality control and kept it to 11 or 12 rad songs I'd dig it more

It's also completely false unless you live in some kind of historically backwards in time stuck piece of ass.
Shitloads of men listen to pop, shitloads of men listen to female pop. Where I live no fucks are given at any time.
""like, ever!""

I'd also dare say that female pop artists are more enjoyable. I haven't met one single person who's a fan of the likes of Flo Rida, David Guetta, Pitbull, Gotye, Bieber and the likes. (at least in my age range +- 2-3 years)

I live in some kind of historically backwards in time stuck piece of ass, then. It's not a really progressive place here, so ok.
People here are really like that. If you listen to pop, you're gay, and you have shit taste. Real men listen to metalcore or some shit. Only women listen to pop. I guess it's my fault for assuming other places are like this too. My bad.
So how supporting of women is the place you live in? Is it ok to listen to pop for men? Are women who listen to metal considered normal?
