Again, no. He's just been the one guy who's capitalized on it more successfully than others. That happens all the time. Like I mentioned, he's just had the foresight to make his music more accessible than others
your dubstep and reggae combination argument makes absolutely no sense, mainly because the difference between dubstep and reggae is far greater than the difference between pop-punk and punk, even by the names alone.
It makes perfect sense, if you know, you had taken the time to actually read what he wrote. Dubstep (in its original form) is garage music (the step) and dub/reggae influences (hence dub being in the name). It would be impossible to marry the two because that relationship already exists, you can only accentuate one more than the other. This song is Skrillex's attempt to discover the "roots" of the genre

i'm curious actually though: should this be considered an EP or a compilation? usually when producers release a group of remixes of their own song(s) it is considered a comp (like TKOL RMX 1234567 for example). But then this is only one song being remixed.
