Light in the Black is incredible too. Not a weak moment on this album.

I just love when the guitar and the keys play together with that stupidly happy rythm in the solo, I fucking love that moment

Definitely dude. One of my favorite moments is Dio's vocals on Run With the Wolf when his sings what's to come, when the siren calls you go, yeah.

Why this only has 14 pages I'll never understand.

manosg, seriously, jam the L.A. mix of this album, most people wouldn't notice the difference, but the bass is way more powerful

And Cozy adds a little of sleighbell in RwtW that sounds pretty cool for something that simple haha

I have bro, it's incredible even though it felt strange at first listen. What's the difference with the New York mix?

I think the NY mix is the one that they used in the final record, cause I haven't found any difference with the original tbh

And have you heard the rehearsal version of Do you Close your Eyes? it has, COWBELL :D

I mean, I love Floyd, and like Opeth and Radiohead (3 of the most discussed bands on here), but it makes one kinda wish to take a bit of attention off of those bands and transfer it to bands like Rainbow and DP.

70's never get that much love in here

Have you jammed Long Live Rock & Roll and the debut danny?

Still remember the first time I heard Gates of Babylon. Prepare to be amazed danny...

This is the best but the other two are 5's for me too

Debut has a lot of reminiscences of the DP Blackmore's era and LLR&R has Gates of Babylon and Kill the King which are as good as any of the songs in here

Oh and both have something that I don't think you'll find in any other album: Dio singing ballads

manosg, you know more about extreme metal than me, I'm not sure what kind of metal Kill the King created, but it definitely did something, BIG

Power metal but the first influences are actually on this album I think.

Really? I thought KtK was in a more speed metal way

Well, speed and power are quite similar but due to the lyrical content (fantasy themes) I think Rainbow played a bigger role on power.

Yeah, I don't think these guys had much impact on thrash.

They might've influenced prog-metal tho.

Oh yeah, their first 3 albums pretty much created the genre just like with Neo-Classical Metal

And they're easily one of the most influential bands in the creation of prog metal, they were far more proggy than DP
