Intro tracks don't get interesting until Cultclass, Rock Off sucks ass, Child Actor doesn't fit the equation, Never Cry Wolf is also rather boring.

This record just lacks a certain urgency. I don't feel like anything that is being said is any of urgency, any importance, as partly indicated by the delivery that the man actually cares about what he says or cares about getting it to people.
Best things on here are probably the P.O.S and Busdriver feature.
One of the most consistent things about this are probably the beats.

I mean, I'm not saying this is bad but rap AOTY and especially AOTY in general? Seems like hyperbole to me.

Well, I just think it's a way stronger release for this year.

Then again, I also think Hilltop Hoods and the Busdriver EP are way stronger than this.

I know, I just don't know WHY.

Then again, I have no fucking clue why I like How To Dress Well so eh.

i get where you're coming from, wolfhorde. i personally liked this a lot at first, but i also thought it didn't come even remotely close to being as good as vessel. the tracks you listed as the least interesting would probably be mine as well, but i still find reasons to come back to them. if people aren't taken by the emceeing then they'll probably only come back for the music, which is understandable. i personally don't feel like the album needs a sense of urgency though. most of its appeal lies in the music and beats, as well as the many well-placed guest spots. guest artists like p.o.s. probably stand out so much more because of their distinguished presence as emcees, whereas dts adopt more of a sluggish drawl approach to rapping.

Snoxall's a good supervisor for the record, he lets you take breaks often and he even occasionally lets you leave the sweatshop early!

Woah I sound like dick in that post, let me explain myself:

Guns. I hate guns. Just the thought of everyone being able to go out and buy a gun would scare me to death. Oh and yeah I consider myself a Marxist. Americans seem to hate Marxists. The end.
