It says a lot through the censoring though, that's he's beside himself with frustration but that he's trying to not let his anger get the best of him. I can see what you mean though Chan

Me, I prefer as much Maxy profanity as possible, but I definitely took that as comedy and liked it

Agreed, andcas. It's more of a petty issue for me - the problem with this album is with the songwriting, at least for me. I mean, the lyrics are pretty bad in some parts but I've always thought more along the lines of the tunes, and then looking at the lyrics later. Granted, Say Anything wear their lyrics on their sleeve, but a decent amount of this is still pretty catchy, even if there aren't as many one-liners :P
And crymsonblaze, my logic too much for ya buddy? ;]

This is so much worse than thought it'd be, even after reading the review. Thought it'd be at least a 3.

There's some great tracks on here but some of it (particularly the second half) is just boring.

This is so awful. It sucks that Bemis has never even come close to returning to the greatness that was Is A Real Boy...

He's remained consistent except for this album and In Defense of the Genre came pretty close.

Once upon a time, Bemis cited bands like Neutral Milk Hotel, Botch, Weezer and At the Drive-in as influences, what was more impressive than his musical taste though, was his ability to meld his influences into cohesive songs that while obviously in homage to his influences, were still flagrantly Bemis, flagrantly Say Anything, and flagrantly awesome. To be completely honest, while Anarchy, My Dear might actually be a reasonably enjoyable record, there isn't a song on it that doesn't make me think 'Fuck this, I'm going to listen to whatever Say Anything song is a better version of this'. Anarchy My Dear is the sound of Say Anything's entire catalogue being dumbed down.

@Whatsgood some of the botch influence made its way to is a real boy, the resemblance is really uncanny especially with Chia Like and Orgy
