Seems to me like most Metallica stuff is enjoyable to a point, I don't particularly care whether it's on the metal side or hard/alternative rock, so I may listen to more of this some time.

The only full albums I've heard are MoP and DM, other than that I've just heard some songs here and there from their other material.

Older stuff does blow this away though. Ride The Lightning and MOP are 2 of my all time favorite albums, but this album is a lot more straight forward than the older ones.

Yeah, even as a non-metal fan I was pretty impressed with MoP. I do like Metallica to a point, they're the kind of band I could throw on from time to time when I'm in the mood for that kind of thing. They do get a bit repetitive tho imo.

Lol that was sarcasm but true. Metallica's a pretty talented band, but once you've heard a few of their songs, you've essentially heard Metallica.

I don't know about the talented part.. I mean the only memeber of Metallica whom I think was actually pretty talented was Burton. But for some reason Metallica has always been to me more than the sum of it's parts. Alone, the members of the band are average... but toghether they do write some amazing music.
