i started the band in 2008 after finishing high school
i just found it interesting that there was a discussion about our album so i though id post on it, thats ok @shuyin its something that Ive come across a few times and although we all love misery signals id love people to perceive northlane as there own genre not just another misery signals rip off band etc. cheers mate! we still play some old songs off that ep live ;)

@miloNL it's cool that you guys wrote it as a concept album; I sort of picked up on that - not so much the corruption of political leaders, but just as a running theme of the doubt you get with 'will I ever amount to anything?' and just pushing for a bigger impact on the world.

I wrote half a review for this based on that, might try and finish and post.

@DotEight all good man we get it a bit, dont get me wrong i love them! but its just not something we want to sound like =]

@00mee the political part of the album is just as much a part of the self discovery as the rest of the songs on the album its not so much about if a single person will amount to anything, think of it more so as a journey of 1 person through a time period. its hard to explain when you don't personally know singer because its about events in his life and other members lifes that made a significant impact, enough of an impact that it changed the rest of his/our lives.

drop G# on my bass is mighty low ;)

even if this album never did clicked for me i wont deny NL's potencial, it was everywhere in the EP, this time the focus seemed to be too much on the breakdowns, thats mostly why im giving it a 2.5 and stating its average.

anyway best of luck into the future, cheers

@Shuyin

Maybe you focused too much on the breakdowns? And even if there may be a few too many, it's not like

they are generic and overplayed. At least some time and composition was put into them.

Plus NL is still young, this is only the debut album.
