Skrillex would be better if he didn't sound like Skrillex. [2]

sure he definitely likes making loud noise that's what his shows really thrive on. i don't see how
that would be better. it might tickle your imaginary fancy more
Whatever his shows thrive on is a byproduct of the music he makes

oh did you write the music dictionary? songs should always be distinct not have distinct things?
anyone can do whatever the fuck they want with music and they're better than any critic of them for doing it. "sounding exactly the same" gets tossed around like a slur... why not try to listen to each song and get the most out of each instead of thinking "oh i analyze this song to be much too similar
to that last one, i'm pissed..."?
If you're going to defend the artist by claiming anyone doing "whatever the fuck they want with music" is "better than any critic of them for doing it" then there's really not much I can say to criticize him or any other musician, is there?
"'sounding exactly the same' gets tossed around like a slur" because it's an awful musical trait. No one wants to listen to the same ideas over and over again for an entire album or EP, and especially not for an entire career. You're defending the stagnation of musicians' creativity. There's absolutely no reason why sounding exactly the same would be a good thing.
"why not try to listen to each song and get the most out of each[?]" This is exactly what I did. Unfortunately, I didn't get much out of them. If you read my previous comments in this thread, you'll see that I thoroughly enjoyed SM&NS. I have that at a 3.5 right now. I've made legitimate criticisms of where he's gone since then that defend why this is rated as a 1. At this point, getting "the most" out of Skrillex's sound is like rolling up the tube of toothpaste to try to squeeze every last bit out. Despite all the effort, you don't get much.
"instead of thinking 'oh i analyze this song to be much too similar
to that last one, i'm pissed...'?" Is there something wrong with analyzing music and holding artists to a high standard? Like I said, this isn't my only criticism, but I do think it's a very legitimate one. You're trying to make it seem like analyzing a release to be 1-dimensional makes me a pompous douchebag with the quotation you've created, but I honestly can't see how any other reaction to this release is more preferable. I definitely did analyze this. I guess maybe if I didn't I could've rated this a bit higher.

Coming to the conclusion that if this sounds better than/is more memorable than some parts of More
Monsters and Sprites.

^What?
Also, this is probably the worst thing I've heard in years and what's worse is my friends play this all the time. Pretty sure I dislike Skrillex more than Nickelback.

Yeah the remixes of "Scary Spirits and Nice Sprites" bug me as I think the original is perfectly fine. This release does have a rather undeniable commercial appeal to it, however I would more than likely listen to this rather than play the same track multiple times in a row.

I really enjoy Wolfgang's influence on "The Devil's Den;" to me it makes the track.

No shit, I was at my friends apartment this weekend and they insisted on having this so fucking loud that it was next to impossible to talk to the girl next to me.

Scary Monsters was a good album, he's been in a nosedive since then.

Was just reading 10 Reasons Why We Hate Skrillex
He took a predominately minimalist genre, stripped it of everything that made it interesting, blew it up to maximalist, Hollywood-style action film proportions, sold it to American brotard philistines, and had the cojones to give it the exact same title of the genre he bastardized.

I have nothing against Skrillex. Hell, I made a move on a girl to Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites at a dance a few nights ago. Within that setting it's fun, but I'd never really go out of my way to listen to this stuff.
Also, from what I've heard of this album it sounds remarkably bad. I could find a few songs off his last release that were enjoyable, but all of this just annoys me. It seems so self-indulgent and just ugh

Skrillex released a house track the other day. It's completely different from anything he's done recently. It's more like the house songs he used to do like "I Wish You All The Luck Of The World". It's called "My Good Bye" if anyone's interested in hearing it.
