Well, for one, he literally says swag 100 times. But yea, essentially the lyricism is just awful, especially when it's destroying amazing Clam tracks like Numb. At least when the Weeknd does the drug thing, he is going for an aesthetic and weaving in some "story." Pretty sure I could go to CVS, buy some Nyquil and cool aid and be about as swag as the ASAP crew.

i love how you try to act like my "insults" werent based within the context of the conversation. you act like i randomly just attack you for fun. is it fun? well of fucking course it is. but you also post stupid fucking shit in a hip hop thread every single day. im not the only one who lets you know about it, im just the most abrasive. cuz you know, youre a fagggot
earl cant flow
asap can

"Well, for one, he literally says swag 100 times."
The word "swag" is repeated in the background of one song during the hook, you don't even know if it's
Rocky saying it.

No we haven't, I'm not even talking about ASAP's lyrical quality since I've already had that discussion and I don't need to have it again. I'm talking about how he's apparently "swag" and what makes "swag rap" or "swag bullshit"
Then he replied that ASAP LITERALLY says swag about 100 times throughout this mixtape and I'm trying to look throughout it to see if there are any "swags" I've missed but so far I can only hear the one in the hook of Purple Swag Pt. 2

Yup Malleus, that was my exact thought process.

I'm only criticizing it because I think he has big potential. If he didn't, I wouldn't even bother. Take Demons for example:
Tap the vein, let it stream, feel the pain
Young Martin Luther King with a dream
That one day that my team
We can make it with this rapping
Now we swagging, making money in Manhattan
Straight what’s happening
Two lines later:
F-ck the clique you with
I’m finna f-ck the bitch you next to
F-ck a metrosexual, suck a dick, I’m disrespectful
You know the kid get it
Get-get sick spit clip spit quick split shit hit kids women
Oh that’s your girl huh? Well, I just hit it
First off the Clam's track behind this song is fucking gold. That said, I heard the MLK lyric and got all excited because it seemed introspective, then I hit the swag line, and was like, oh shit, here we go, and wouldn't you know it if degraded into 2nd grade Odd Future machismo.
So yea, with some maturity and producers like Clams and Araab behind him, he can do big things, but right now he's hard to take seriously, especially with hip hop albums progressing to the point they are with shit like Oneirology just blowing minds.

the guy is obsessed with lil b and really wants to have that same i fucked your bitch and i wear weird clothes appeal
oh and he wants to be called pretty all the time

@cole: So you'd only think it was good if it was conscious or something? If he rapped about racial
issues and
segregation would you think he was this mindblowing genius?
and okay you're actually right, he says it one time during his actual rapping in Demons. I never
actually listen to that track and I haven't hit it yet in my "quick brush through the mixtape". 99 to
go.
