All of you are in a hurry here...This one demands a lot of listens to grow, to get all the subtleties...
this.
From the tenth listening session and beyond is where the album truly blossoms...
Thinking of bumping my rating to a 4 (started from a 3/5 at first listen), but just not yet.
There are a lot more complex prog rock/metal albums recorded in music history than this (check A Sense of Change or Steps from Sieges Even for instance)

I love how people are saying that if you don't like this, you are not open minded.
Sorry Mikael. I don't particularly like this album because it is pretty generic as prog rock goes, and the transitions are weak.

Herp derp it's not heavy! But seriously, I can understand why this might not sit well with a lot of the band's fans, but for a prog nut like me it's pure bliss.

snooze alert. this album is a comforting but there's nothing jumping out after two listen and two songs that go over 8 minutes. With Coil, Heir Apparent, and lotus eater, watershed IMO was something special. This is still a good album worth a listen, but it's a blip in their discography.

Only4theweak-- As a prog nut, I can say this album is pretty dull. Pleasant, but nothing really engaging. Although I don't think it is any worse than Watershed--I feel the same about this and Watershed.

Exactly a week until I see these guys live. I hope its a great show even though they arent playing any heavy stuff on this tour. They have been playing Closure though, which is fantastic.

I hope they play that shit like they did on Lamentations. It's better that way than on the album.

The ending of it on Lamentations was fucking insane

I'm mostly excited about hearing I Feel the Dark and Patterns in the Ivy 2.

Yeah, I Feel the Dark is my favorite track on Heritage. Should be great to hear live. Its interesting to see they are doing a tour composed of all mellow/no death vocal songs.

They really aren't playing any heavy stuff? Thats really stupid actually, why don't they just pull their best albums off the shelves and get it over with.

More like trolling the fans they gained prior to releasing Heritage.

i love BWP as much as the next guy but still, it's always good to see metalheads getting pissed off over something "un-metal" that one of their favorite bands does.

I'm fine with a change of direction, but to leave out all the heavy stuff from a live show is pretty disappointing to a long time fan.

Well, I am sure there will be the heavy stuff again in the future. they are promoting an album that has non-metal material and why shouldn't they do a tour of all of their songs with no growls? I think it will be a great experience myself. I think this album is in that right direction they should be heading. Folklore is my favorite off this record by the way. Cheers!
