The letter's in your coat

But no one's in your head

Cause you're too smart to remember

You're too smart

Lucky you :'[

Water Wall, Cardinal and Available are top 10 Ntl for me tbh.

Having only heard this and Alligator so far, there’s some great stuff on here. I honestly wasn’t expecting much as I heard their first two weren’t even essential. Beg to differ there. Favorites are Available and Lucky You, but the first three tracks are amazing as well. This would be an easy 4, but man, Sugar Wife through Fairytales is such a buzzkill. I don’t really like any of those songs.

So it’s basically: first half is amazing, and only the bookends of the second half are great.

^ i'm envious, I'd love to go back and hear it all again. Sad Songs will always be criminally underrated because of what came after, which is a shame because this is such a good, easy listen. Sugar Wife and Fairytales never did much for me tho, they're both kinda bad

@blastoff those are all great picks! I dont think I could make a concrete top 10, but I'd say Slipping Husband would make the cut. Heavy sentimental value.

Yeah man, I’m having a great time. This is definitely a solid album. Basically the first half the songs are 4-5, then the second half are all 3s and below (except for Available and Lucky You, which are 5s and the best here).

Glad to hear it! If you dig what's here definitely do not skip over Cherry Tree, it's a bit more consistent and refined overall, equally underrated

It’s amazing. So is Lucky You.

It goes:

Lucky You, Available > Slipping Husband > 90 Mile Water Wall > Cardinal Song > Murder Me Rachel > It Never Happened, Thirsty >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> the rest

I overplayed 90 mile water wall :/ my top 5 right now would be Slipping Husband, Cardinal Song, Lucky You, Thirsty, and Fashion Coat. Really hard leavin out Available, Murder Me, and It Never Happened tbh, they're all just as good.

I feel like I’m finally truly getting these guys. Just been hanging at home with my family today so I’ve had this, Alligator and Boxer on shuffle all day.

I dunno, I was definitely liking them before, but was starting to feel they’re a bit overrated or I’m just not fully grasping it.

It somehow clicked today.

I can’t see any of the songs topping Available and especially Lucky You for me, but Slipping Husband is the closest. Love his screams and wish they had retained some of that. He’s a great fucking screamer!

Just got Ntl tiks for back-to-back shows next year. Haven't seen 'em since 2014 and is in a way smaller venue this time, so super pumped!

Iteresting to hear this, after checking out all their later albums (and adoring them). It feels like they just didn't put that much thought into some of the songs on here - after three listens it feels like half of these songs pass by without much going on. Still some nice tracks though, the bookends and Thirsty are the clear highlights for now.
