I must be an idiot because I don't think these guys are a Joy Division clone at all... they sound a lot more like The Chameleons to me. The first Editors album sounds to me what people seem to think Interpol sound like as far as stealing from Joy Division goes.

i've always thought the same thing. i'm really not sure how the whole joy division rip-off accusation started. really the only song interpol has that sounds anything like joy division to me is length of love, and that didn't come out until way after the accusations began.

they really do sound a lot more like the chameleons than joy division, but i wouldn't say interpol ripped anyone off really. every band has influences, it's not like they borrowed any more from their inspirations than the average band.
