"Orlando, Wednesday. What did you think of Tidal Arms and Those People?"
It was Atl Thursday for me. Tidal Arms was pretty freaking awesome, reminded me of a Sludgish Thrice. Those People was pretty boring to me, just seemed like they tried too hard.

Two classic albums + 2-3 awesome EPs is a pretty good track record

saying Glassjaw has even one classic album is a bit of a stretch...

A lot of people disagree on that statement. There's a reason that ten years later W&T and even EYEWTKAS still gets praise from lots and lots of people as cornerstones of post-hardcore and heavy music. They stand the test of time better than 95% of their peers do as well

really? I feel like EYEWTKAS sounds more dated than most of the stuff that I listen to from that era... to me it just sounds like they were trying to emulate Deftones' first two albums to a ridiculous degree.
There are quite a few post-hardcore albums from that era that I think are a lot better than anything Glassjaw ever did. Not saying they're terrible, just not classics.
I was kind of surprised with the amount of love they got on this site when I first joined. Just my opinion though, obviously.

I for one prefer old Glassjaw and this isn't on par at all. At least its better than Green

I think the direction of CB will show that their subsequent releases are going to be a lot more focused and musically interesting than the old stuff right now. I loved those albums a lot and still do in some ways but people's tastes change as they get older anyways, and on a musical level this is a logical step from W&T. No one sounds like they do right now. CB is great because it's a new take on the band's music while still retaining defining characteristics that make them a unique group.
OCG was just a collection of singles, not even close to the cohesion of Coloring Book. Musically this new direction of the band is infinitely more interesting than what the Deftones are doing right now anyways or did I miss the part where DE is basically just a combo of old albums (a great one, but still nothing new)? They always talk about how they want to go back to WP. GJ's not doing that. Again, just a matter of taste
