I should probably move onto their next one, but this is still hitting the spot for the minute. No immediate rush.

Is this the only Cave In you've heard? Cause you're in for a surprise

Yeah I've heard they went through a few stylistic changes in their discog, maybe that's what's preventing me from diving head first into their other material. Is the next one at least vaguely similar? Don't they have an alt-rock(ish) era?

The next one is absolutely nothing like this and it's gonna surprise you. It's more of a psychedelic post-hardcore record but it's really difficult to pin down genre wise. Antenna is the alt-rock record with a bit of the space-rock vibes. The closest they ever get to returning to this sound is White Silence and Planets of Old but those still aren't even a return to this style of metalcore. That said, Jupiter is my favorite Cave In record but it took me a very long time to come to that opinion.

Also if you find yourself wanting more of this sound, check out Beyond Hypothermia. It's a comp of their pre-UYHS material and it's not even close to being on this level, but it might scratch that itch for you. Brodsky isn't on vocals but the other guys do alright.

Ah right, interesting. Thanks. I'll definitely check the next one at least, it seems to have been well received.

Jupiter has a higher avg than this one ;)

They've never made a bad record and Sing My Loves off of White Silence is in my top 3 favorite Cave In songs, so I'd definitely check them all out. Just don't do a discog run in one sitting or you might get whiplash from how different each record is from the prior one.
