Gonna check in tribute to the great Ballou (not the bear, different spelling). Doesn't sound like it'll take very long to go through their discog, haha

Does anyone get frustrated when they start playing a cool riff, you just get into it & then bang, the track is over? Haha. Guess I should've expected that to happen.
It's definitely somewhat enjoyable, serves a purpose.

Is this powerviolence? Guessing sput doesn't have a tag for it so just labels everything hardcore/grind.

Abandon All Life is great but loses momentum towards the end.
Not really jammed YWNBOOU but I remember the production bugging me.

This is definitely way out ahead at the minute in the 'Demon's best Nails album' stakes

This one is only entertaining in the first couple of listens tbh.

Well that comment is true (to an extent) as the first two jams were the best, I just think this riffs significantly harder than the next couple of albums & I prefer the vibe.
|

So is any of their other stuff better than this? 'Cause I've only listened to this one and as you can see I'm not a fan.

Sometimes I think I should give this band's discography another go

You could, problem is having the time to digest these lengthy pieces
@Alexander: I don't think so at the minute but they do things a little differently, the vox change (no longer like typical hardcore, bit harsher/'screamier' if anything) & they experiment with a couple of longer sludgier tracks, more-so than here. I also hear them moving more towards metal/grind rather than powerviolence (I guess) but someone else may be better at verifying that. Production varies a little as well, I find this has the most clarity for their sound.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm... Maybe I'll like the rest of their stuff more then. Thanks.

You’re definitely right though, this is wearing off already. Limited shelf life.
