One song off OK Computer or Kid A is better than Linkin Park's entire discography.

Radiohead is boring as Hell, but still good to listen to depending on mood. This... This is never good to listen to.

Because They're better than Linkin Park, and infinitely more relevant, even in a Linkin Park thread

there's nothing worst than an average commercial group pretending to be a band of alternative experimental artists. ridicolous

It's hard not to judge this in comparison to HT and Meteora, both of which I really like, so this album is obviously dissapointing.

Considering it as an album on it's own though I guess it's not bad, didn't hate it, didn't like it either

what song is supposed to be in 7/8..?

Seems like everything vie heard from them has always been the 3/4 - 4/4 range.

Yeah, I found the same thing. Apparently Dream Theater plagiarized it (on These Walls) but I'll be damned if I'm going to actually listen to Linkin Park to find out. Anyone want to check it out for me?

I just think that they have pushed themself too far this time , and they don't have the skills to change their style like that , dropping almost all the rock elements ,without sounding a bit ridicolous. I think that Minutes to midnight was pretty bad but still a rock album , this is some kind of electronic- emo-pop record , and from my point of view not a very good one , all those intros are pointless and the songs sounds weak to me.

2. The Radiance

Rating - N/A

Interlude

3. Burning In The Skies

Rating - 1/5

Crap

4. Empty Spaces

Rating - N/A

Interlude

5. When They Come For Me

Rating - 4/5

2nd favourite track on the album. Liking the Indian/Arabian overtones

6. Robot Boy

Rating - 1/5

Dissapointing (if there was rapping/shouting over track it could have been 3/5)

7. Jornada Del Muerto

Rating - N/A

Interlude (7 tracks in, only 3 actual songs)

8. Waiting For The End

Rating - 0/5

Stop trying to be a boyband

9. Blackout

Rating - 2.5/5

The only song on the whole album with Chester screaming

10. Wretches And Kings

Rating - 4.5/5

Awesome song, best on the album. Mike actually raps instead of singing

11. Wisdom, Justice, And Love

Rating - N/A

Another interlude

12. Iridescent

Rating - -1/5

Awful! Worse than Track 8 so it gets minus 1 out of 5. I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon than have to listen to this track again

13. Fallout

Rating - N/A

Another f*cking interlude

14. The Catalyst

Rating - 2/5

Okay, nothing more

15. The messenger

Rating - 0/5

Whiney Chester = me changing track

Most albums start with an intro and then a good opening track, this starts with an intro, an interlude, a crap song and then another interlude WTF!? Overall this album is awful. Only 9 of the 15 tracks are actual songs and only 2 of those are any good (When They Come For Me/Wretches And Kings). I would rank all of the other tracks below anything from Hybrid Theory, Meteora, Re-animation and even Collision Course; they're just bad.

On their last album Minutes To Midnight, there were 2 good tracks: Given Up & No More Sorrow. The rest of the album consisted of average/below average songs and horrible, sickly, boyband-like ballads. A Thousand Suns is just as bad as MTM, if not slightly worse.

I think Linkin Park need to remember what made them successful in the first place - Mike Shinoda rapping and Chester Bennington singing/screaming. Mike is not a good singer (harmonies), Chester is really boring when he's in a ballad. Instead of 2 crap albums they should have just released an EP with 7 tracks:

1. Intro

2. Wretches And Kings

3. Given Up

4. Interlude

5. No More Sorrow

6. When They Come For Me

7. Outro (Instrumental)

Conclusion - Too many interludes, too many ballads/boyband pop, no screaming from Chester apart from an average Track 9

Good tracks - When They Come For Me, Wretches And Kings

Okay tracks - Blackout, The Catalyst

Rating - 1/5
