I suppose that if I really like this and Demon Hunter, I should hear Training for Utopia, right?

I can hear some similarities, although this is far more simple and focused, more atmospheric, and obviously less chaotic. Both rule, though.

seriously they don't sound alike? they sound so ridiculously similar

theyre both in the same vein of metalcore. if you cant hear that, its probably cos you've listened to each album loads and discovered their intricacies.

but on a first listen, they sound extremely similar

"Zao and TFU sound nothing alike"

apart from them both having the dark Christian metalcore sound of the late 90s..................

yeah I agree that tfu is much more chaotic, but in the wider scope of music they are very similar

someone who doesn't listen to metalcore or wasn't really paying much attention when listening to both the albums wouldn't hear the differences

yes I agree theyre different but I don't see how you could argue that someone wouldn't be able to confuse the bands in their mind.

"I dunno, even when I was new to both bands I never considered that comparison. The vocals are so different and Zao's riffs are much more metallic and massive. "

I dunno man I guess I wasn't paying that much attention when I was listening to TFU.

both great bands though
