"users who aren't sheep and actually actively listen to hip hop instead of just seeking out the most popular and mainstream rappers"
I mean, there are many people on here and elsewhere that think he's one of the best if not the best that are very active hip hop listeners. Myself included. Just because he's immensely popular doesn't mean he didn't have skill and doesn't qualify as a goat. The way he makes you feel with what he says is truly what matters. Sure, someone like Busdriver would rap 2Pac under the bus, but does Busdriver or others with immense skill make you really feel intense emotions? Even if he only made MATW, he'd have this reason I just mentioned that would propel him to elite status. Just look at So Many Tears or Lord Knows. But he didn't. The diversity of 2Pac is a big reason he can qualify as a goat. He had political, gangsta, conscious, uplifting, underground, alternative, east coast and west coast styles in his catalogue. Sure you could call him a jack of all trades and master of none (even though I'd say he is a master of Gangsta), but he was able to tear up most of these genres and make music that means something to people. That's why you can see any of his albums he made while alive be argued or rooted for as his best. If that doesn't make him at least top 10 then I dont know what makes anyone

Yeah he looks just like him it's crazy

Yeah I mean he definitely had a lot of skill and a couple fantastic albums, but his catalogue overall is pretty shitty imo. It's like Nas- he made what I consider to be one of the best rap albums of all time, but overall he's terrible

Aka almost every hip-hop artist/group ever let's not kid ourselves
|
| |
the hell, Nas terrible?
|
| |
nas terrible by what measure tho
his discography is pretty terrible
at the art of rapping tho, even tho hes fallen off he definitely peaked it
frustratingly disappointing hip hop artist, top 5 'rapper'

I dont understand the hate for nas. His run from Illmatic to God's Son is awesome imo. I haven't heard his stuff after God's Son but I highly doubt its all terrible
|
| |
no its not
|

i love nas....i just listen to very select pickings from his discog, and tbh, mostly from his early years/unofficial discog
when he was young af on that street boom bap shit he was literally the best lyrically

I think "I Am" is a really good album. Haven't heard Nastradamus but id probably like it cuz my taste is whack.
Also keyblade thanks for the backup, very accurate placements/opinions. I can't think of the word. God's Son is super underrated
Also not a bad pick budgie.
