The first track sucks. I might have to roll out the old haphazard syncretism and disjointed anti-integration argument for this one.
|
| |
First track is the best. And stop overusing the word "syncretism", you don't sound smarter.
|
| |
I'm poking fun at MJ for his usage of that word.
And yeah, no. Second track kills.

Fantastic Album. I only heard about this band today, from a photo of the album. Looked them up and fell in love with their sound instantly. Reminds me of a lighter and a bit more technical Drudkh.

Have only given this one listen as of now. I was quite surprised when I found out what the band's sound was like. I'm thinking it will probably be a 4.

It's a stunning closer.

Artwork rules. Artist fucked it up on Drudkh's new one.

I don't mind it. Reminds me of a witch in Left4Dead. maybe it signifies a musical progression for Drudkh.

The artwork on Drudkh's new album is by the same artist who painted the cover to this? Wow, what the fuck happened.

yeah, I don't like it. I'm ok with progression, but the new artwork came out of left field. I mean before they were all pictures of nature to go with the mood of the album.

I don't think it's that big of a deal but curious if any new musical ideas are integrated.

Didn't think it would be possible to hear such evocative, nostalgic and just beautiful clean guitar playing in 2010. Parts of Katatonia's 1996 album Brave Murder Day come to mind when listening through this, more specific at the beginning and the 5 or 7-minute mark in "Écailles de Lune (Part II)", and the gorgeous closer "Sur L'Océan Couleur de Fer".
Anyone know where such or similar guitar playing is featured in other bands? This is as perfect as introvert and melancholic clean playing gets to me.

Album rules, some of the best clean guitar writing I have heard.
