I find the songwriting more focused and overall better on this album compared to the Latter Rain.
'Dark Prophets, Black Hearts' ROCKS, too.

Perhaps less consistent than TLR, but tracks 1, 3, 5 and 7 are all extremely good

Some of their best stuff is on their first album (Det Rakner, Their Spirits Ride With The Wind, In The Midnight Hour), but as an album this one is much, much more cohesive and consistent.

If the whole album were as good as Captivating Solitude, Dark Prophets/Black Hearts, and Sombre Fall/Burdened Winter, this would be close to a 5.
Too bad the rest of the album is corpse-painted clown shoes.

Seriously do you guys even know how good Captivating Solitude is.
Fuck I hope if they make another album they'll cut all the cheesy crap and release a classic.

The keyboard/guitar solo in Captivating Solitude is so well-incorporated.

Wayakin is so hilariously bad.

I don't know what possessed them to put that on the album

Wayakin's only redeeming factors are the guitar solos. All of the guitar solos on this album are really well-done actually.
