Hahaha DDD! I hope you like it. It's not for everyone, very curious what you'll think!

the band is too good and do not exactly deserve this cheap melo doom vocals at times...she's as cool at times as off-putting at others...maybe I need time with it. If you guys 4.5/5 it you must absolutely love the vocals...

She's the sole reason this band ever got as far as they did. I really like their music, but she was the attraction.

Yeah I L O V E Anneke's vox. She's a little untrained here though, if you try Souvenirs or Home she's a lot steadier. But her vocals here are too much for some.

okay...maybe I was harsh saying they re "cheap"...but cool enough I def spot out the doom influences...as I came to read just now on the rev...still digesting. Bought on Red is a Slow Colour f.e.

Their debut album ...Always is a really good, unique, doom album.

"She's a little untrained here though"

supercool you got that too...I think to 5 an album is to know it so well and embrace its flaws and our unconditional love for it. Trif a true kind dude, deserving of the User's prize.

"But her vocals here are too much for some." I think is the contrast between the music sounding so modern/ sophisticated and her vocals, exactly the opposite...maybe it needs time to settle...but there's definitely tracks where it works perfectly.

"Their debut album ...Always is a really good, unique, doom album." I always look for unique stuff...these guys seem like a sweet ride to take. TKS Willie.

Aaawww DDD! 💚

What Johnny said is true too: if_you love the Radiohead-ish Portishead-ish vibes, then_you're going to love the later Anneke-albums.

(Hahahaha, that if_then_else joke worked better in my head...)

"between the music sounding so modern and jazzy and her vocals, exactly the opposite"
Up until Souvenirs the Gathering always gave me a slight retro vibe, not quite steampunk and not quite vintage but not a million years away from either - I think this quote catches this quite nicely
lmao Trif I love this

Yeah Souvenirs is both their most Portishead-y and probably their most Radiohead-y lol
