I was aware of this one as a child.
I saw it as pompous bombast even as a 7/8yr old.
I became distinctly aware of U2 around The Fly and Achtung Baby years.
Zoo TV and all that were compelling but very detached. Completely un relatable and very uncool.
Then Zooropa came out and it was complete wank, peak wank was reached with Passengers but I was still drawn back to Achtung Baby as a special album.
The 80s years were still not my thing at all.
Pop came out and I loved it but Bono was just unforgivably bellendish.
The best of came out and I borrowed it off a mate but U2 as a thing were just Actung Baby and Pop for me.
ATYCLB came out and I bought it and loved it, then Atomic Bomb and again I loved it but the only thing I listened to regularly was Achtung Baby.
Now I'm in me mid 40s and I have found myself listening to a U2 including this stuff a lot.
There’s something comforting about it.
Achtung Baby is one of the all time greats, Passengers is incredibly underrated as are Pop and ATYCLB
The band is still the most inorganic ‘rock’ band of all time, Bono remains one almighty bellend but I’ve gone full cunt and can hand on heart say I like U2.

just had a track I hadn't so much as smelt a whiff of a memory of in years jump into my head for no particular reason and it took me a full five minutes to realise it was not in fact a song from this album or even by U2, but Where We Belong by Lostprophets
not sure who this reflects worst on. probably this silly band.
