It caused him to look up the etymology of chimaira which piqued his love for greek mythology. He booked a first class ticket to Athens, leaving his life past life behind to enroll in the prestigious Kapodistrian University of Athens where he's lived ever since.

It was kind of like a gateway song into more extreme metal. Slipknot already had a ton of radio play so I never heard them like that, but Chimaira was this more "obscure" metal band with the non-stop double kick and the higher pitched heavy vocals.

Sounds silly to call them extreme metal now, but at the time they sounded heavier than anything I'd ever heard before.

edit: also what Spirit said

Rob Arnold was always one of my favourite metal guitarists, and this is his finest work

Not to mention that godly Peavey 5150 tone bro

This band will always have a special place in my heart. The run they had from IoR through Resurrection is just perfection.
