Best track is easily Antartica since that's their best ever song and one of my all time favourites (Inveigh, you should look at my 'Who Doesn't Love a Good Listing' list).

I should check this out I guess. Their first 2 albums are awesome, is this more like TOoN or YCBY
|
| |
haha of course I meant December lol what is wrong with me
urgh why didnt they stick to the sound of TOoD. that shit rules so hard, they toned it a bit down on the next release

The Opposite Of December is the only PTW album I have, but it rules
|

This rules

dont get me wrong YCBY is excellent but they softened up way too quickly haha. it feels more thought-out though

TOoD, YCBY and TTR all rule. That's why this band is great, they haven't released the same album over and over again. If they were still writing songs like on TOoD, we'd be killing them for sounding like a generic metalcore band or something, that album was the blueprint for the whole AILD, KsE etc sound and I'm glad PtW decided to go more experimental on everything after Tear from the Red.

| |
For some reason I thought YCBY is their second full length lol. Gonna check out Tear from the Red first

This album is the culmination of what PTW have been trying to do since day 1.

tbh YCBY sounds more like KsE than TOoD

Tear from the Red doesn't have the level of songwriting that TOoD does imo, but it's still pretty good. I'd say it's my least favorite full-length of theirs, but if you really like TOoD then you should dig it.

it sounds more like Howard-era KsE, I'll give you that (but that album came out in 2003 before the Howard era also). But TOoD came out in 1999 and you can't tell me that KsE's first s/t (2000 or 2001 I can't remember) and AOJB as well as every other breakdown-centric melodic metalcore band with a mix of screams and clean vocals wasn't influenced by that album.

Inveigh- That's because PTW were the first to hit it "big" in the metalcore scene, and then out came the imitators.

I'd say Tear From The Red is their weakest album, even more so than Versions

I don't get it. Versions I thought was great. A big step away from what they had been doing, of course, but nonetheless great. What's everyone's problem with it?
|
| |
I find it rather unfocused, but in saying that it is their only album I haven't spent much time with

ugh i forgot i needed this...

Versions takes the most time to sink in. I always liked it, but it wasn't until I'd put in a bunch of listens that I actually realized how great it is.

YCBY sounds nothing like KsE.
