I'd need to spin it again but my top three are Boy with the Gun, Let Happiness In and Orpheus. They're the 5/5 tunes.

Love Waterfront's stormy atmosphere. Orpheus and WTPDOA are my favorites on here though

just joking man, ive showed many people sylvian and many dislike it much more than you. i find this release in particular to evoke some incredibly magical, fairy tale music.

The even-numbered tracks are pretty obviously the meat and potatoes

That's fair, I may just need to learn to appreciate it from that perspective. I tend to look for more genuine emotional expression in music first but there are cases of "otherworldly" stuff that have grown on me really hard (Dead Can Dance's Within the Realm of a Dying Sun, for example) so this could definitely go in that direction with more listens.

I think I made a good case for Gone to Earth being pretty otherworldly in my review. This is too. I get some pagan vibes also, and parts remind me of Heritage by Opeth.

Nice rating Boney lol

I think my track rating would be Orpheus = When Poets> Happiness> Boy with Gun> Waterfront> September> Mother and Child > The Devil's Own and Maria

This album is amazing; I really like and The Devil's Own and Maria, but something has to be last.

Thanks Talons, I'm having one of those days where all music sounds fucking amazing and this definitely benefited from that.

poets is insane. that ending section is one of the best moments of acoustic music i've ever heard.
