They were never meant as riff writers, more like hypnotic black metal writers if I'm correct (in the vein of older Drudkh).

But Drudkh's riffs on Autumn Aurora completely bury anything this band has ever done, in my opinion, and are much more successful in that arena of being entrancing, so to speak.

but the riffs on ex cathedra is brilliant
and on ahrimanic trance :]

eh Drudkh have never really entranced me at all, and I've never found their riffs particularly special either. different styles of riffs, and their style doesn't rub off on me. :]
